I would fit more than half, the anabolic community into that category though. Not even many pro's do all their diligence. I would say most of the guys I've run across through the years, that took AAS, took somewhere between 1-4 cycles. Then they quit working out or just stop with the AAS. Almost all of those people never knew left from right on what was actually happening to their bodies. Most don't even care. Most guys I've come across only know the very basics. A number of guys I know that competed, just do what their "coach" tells them to do and that's it. I would say very very few people spend days and months of their lives on message boards like this researching everything they can find and able to hold educated conversations on the matter. Take me for example.. I was introduced to one of the first major aas boards back in 98. The internet was roughly 4 years old at this point.. I spent almost a year of my life, for a couple hours a day, studying every compound in the game. I realized 10 years later, I still didn't know shit. Most people, dooo not do that. I even had a doctor I was speaking to about TRT a decade ago. About 5 minutes into the convo I realized I knew way more that she did about aas and how compounds synergy in your body. I left and found a new doctor.
I think you are being a little harsh on my friend. I don't need someone telling me my boy is going to die. I been in this game a looooong time. I can probably figure the obvious out. He's not still running gear. I'm not saying he's not an idiot. Yes, I agree not listening to advice might have led to this issue. But I'm not exactly holding his hand making sure he's doing everything he needs to do. That minor stroke could just be from 50mg of cialis daily lol. Like what the fuck?? Who takes 50mg cialis daily?? My own doc won't prescribe me more than 5mg cialis daily lol (that might be cause I'm taking BP meds aleady... There's a lot self-employed people out there that are cheapskates on paying for insurance. So they try to do their own medical shit and analysis and it is what it is. This guy has actually made several million being a direct aas source, and has never been popped for almost 20 years. Having an endless supply of what ever you want, when you want is hard to resist. I'm not making any excuses for the guy. There are a good number of dudes on these boards that understand and have the same story. Try to give anybody advice that has some success in their feild of whatever and see how seriously they take you.
I could be self-righteous and say what you said about anybody that doesn't get checked up by a doctor whether they take gear or not. I would correct you and say 4 out of 5 people running AAS don't have a clue. And I mean they don't have the slightest clue on what they are doing. Alllll those people give AAS a bad name. How many people do you know that compete seriously vs gym bros taking gear. It's your, dumb as shit, egomaniac, ILS suffering, chest bumping gym tard knuckle heads that give aas a bad name. It's all ignorance. The gym bros are ignorant. The twirps on youtube commenting that you are going to die, are ignorant. The wrap that comes with tren alone gives all aas a bad name. Roid rage is a real thing. That's why I'll never touch tren again. I'm lucky I'm not locked up for life after my last tren run 5 years ago. My purpose of resurrecting this thread is an attempt to wake anybody up that isn't doing what they need to do, to be more healthy on aas. And there are a lot of people on these boards, that have access to all the info, that still choose to be morons and run 3 grams a week etc...
This board is basically dead. There used to be numbers of wild ass dudes on here. I remember this one fool testing black tops running 20iu daily. lmfao!!! The dude talking about how awesome it was even though his gut was growing. Then vanishes.. That's just one story of many many I could share. You been around enough. You know exactly what I'm sayin.
I just thought of one more example that's worth sharing. 9 years ago I remember meeting this fighter that fights overseas. Big dude, not cut, but just huge. Looked like he could play on the line for any team. I was decent size (290lbs@17% dirty bulking) so the dude came over and started a convo with me. We got to talking about aas and the dude was just all in. Telling me all this crazy shit about how much he takes. I told him he needs to chill on that. He tells me "Fuck that.. I'm a warrior.. I will die a warrior's death. I don't care if i see 50yo.". I just shook my head. What are you going to say to something like that?? Who am i to judge? I never thought I'd live past 30 with the shit I was involved with. Were all going to die. My body is going to be so fucked with arthritis by 60... do I want to live past 60?
Ranting to keep my mind off this bad cold.
Hey bro, i apologize if you felt i came a certain way in regards to your friend. Obviously i dont want to see or hear that happening to him or to anyone who does this. But i know the type, and how smug those dudes can be, and next thing you know, we ALL look bad because of his negligence. You are right though, as i have done my fair share of reckless, abusive practices while using aas. I just didn't want you to go on some useless conquest of trying to talk sense into someone who refuses to accept it, but you should still at least try to gently goad him into coming to a blood donation or something with you.
And i agree with you 100% about the avg person who has cycled, they either do it and never do it again or dont really care. My best friend actually got me started as he was playing football at University of San Diego many years ago, and was a quick drive from the border where he could get fire ass gear for pennies on the dollar. He did his first cycle and blew the fuck up off of a solo run of either just EQ or test. His diet was absolute crap other than just eating a grip of calories, but he did do his pct. He knew the very basics of how to pin, ran a pyramid dosage protocol, etc. He's a football coach now and doesn't have to time to or care to make the time to train. Has a ran a handful of cycles randomly through the years, refused to believe that you need more than 1g per lb of bodyweight to grow, would drink, etc.
Few years after that, some dude i worked with at a call center had a plug to the oldschool British Dragon gear, and got a bunch of guys in the office excited to run gear. A lot of them were dudes that never even worked out before, didn't want to pin, and would take stuff like liquid var or winny. Probably half assed their workouts, def didn't eat right, etc.
It is extremely rare that i come across someone in the real world with as much or more knowledge of aas than i do. I even have a buddy who is actually very close to getting his IFBB pro card in men's physique, great genetics and super dedicated, who leaned on me very heavily for his cycling protocols and other stuff. He even gave me credit as a mentor when he finished 3rd place in a competition couple years ago. I have tried to encourage him to come onto a couple boards and do his own research, telling him there are guys on these boards who put my knowledge to shame and this is where i learn, and he tells me "Nah, i dont trust the internet, people can say anything on there"
So i get it. I don't fluff much, and i wish the best for your friend. I have 0 doubt that he is a cool ass dude, doesn't deserve health problems or his life to end or any of that... but the reality is, with already having s stroke and recklessly pushing the envelope, it's only a matter of time.
He is a grown ass man and is going to do tf he wants to do- I would tell you, as one man to another, do what you can, but if he is your really good friend, just focus on spending time with him and enjoying him while he is around, bc the writing is on the wall.
Let me know if there is anything i can do to help.
