Last thing I really want to spend extra money on is carbs……

can’t a guy just use grape juice?

Well, there is good old dextrose. Tried, tested, and very cheap.

Walmart has cheap powdered drinks, Walmart brand lemonade and punch , sucrose and flavor. I buy big cans of Gatorade powder, several flavors, I mix with peptopro, cheap carbs with expensive but quality protein.
